The Distance Between Us
Joshua Isaac Finch//Entresol:
Introduction:
Joshua is my favorite musician and booker in Oregon. And that is saying soemthing, since Eugene is chock full of musicians that I adore.
Joshua also makes a great cup of coffee. And a mean mixed drink.
Bio:
Entresol utilizes a belief structure comprised of equal parts texture, space, contrast, beauty and the abrasive to form harsh noise influenced art-rock, industrial, dreampop and mixed media visual artworks.
A background in a repressive "super-religious" household in Central Oregon led Finch to music, and music, ultimately, led to Eugene.
"I was an 'indoor kid' and was tormented at school," Finch recalls. "Music was the one place I could turn that always felt inviting, supportive and warm. I wouldn't be here without it."
Doc's Pad:
Introduction:
Lillian Almeida, the BRIDGE curator says the fries here are the absolute best in Eugene. She lives on fries, so that is no samll beans...
For my part, Gary and Kacey, and everyone at Doc's, has been amazing to work with. You will here that over and over in these introductions, and in my thank yous. That is a reflection of the kindness, openness, and curiosity that inhabits Eugene's downtown. The businesses here are family, our family, Eugene. And that is something amazing and special. The Distance Between Us is a celebration of that family, of us as a community, of who we are together.
Bio:
Owners Gary and Kacey Miller are well rooted in Oregon. Gary is has lived in the Willamette Valley for over 40 years. Both Kacey and Gary share a common vision of local first. Docs pad originated as the Paddock. Legendary Olympian Steve Prefontaine worked at the Paddock while at the University of Oregon. When the Paddock moved locations, the owner at the time reversed the syllables in the name to become Doc's Pad. Not long after Gary and Kacey bought Doc's Pad.
