The Distance Between Us

Charly Swing:

Introduction:
Lee, Earthbound Moon's director, sits on the board of Charly's other gig, besides being an artist, ArtCity Eugene. Her energy and enthusiasm are endless. Her ability to conceive of a city as art is inspiring.

Bio:
Charly Swing once lived on a 36' wooden ketch in Alamitos Bay where she commuted by dinghy to her job in a shipyard. Today she is an arts leader and social sculptor who works collaboratively to creatively form the place where we live. Charly is the founder of ArtCity Eugene and she facilitates the Eug-Art404 placemaking initiative in the River Road and Santa Clara Areas. Charly has explored sculpture through many media, in which she wonders about the feminine story, relationships, and our connection to place.

Park Street Cafe':

Introduction:
Park St. Cafe' is a regular stop for soups and sandwiches for the TDBU team. The food is always healthy and fresh. The atmosphere always relaxed. The people a pleasure.

Bio:
FSherri Thieben put herself through graduate school pursuing a teaching degree by cooking. When she moved to Oregon, not being yet certified to teach in this state, she took to cooking full time. In the same week of 2003, she was both accepted into the University of Oregon's School of Education and offered the opportunity to purchase what would become Park St Cafe. Her choice is obvious. Since then Sherri has expanded her culinary arts skills, studying in Italy, Thailand, and India, among many other places. She keeps her ingredients as local as possible, while keeping her cuisine as global as possible.
